The documentary Shutter Republic filmed and produced for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa is now online. Check it out!
Shutter Republic's last stop in the Central African shoot (for the documentary we are filming for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa) is Gabon. One of Africa's wealthier nations due to oil and mineral reserves, it still has widespread poverty and uneven distribution of wealth. It is also one of the most expensive countries we have ever been to.
Three days of filming in the Republic of Congo (one of the countries for the U.N. documentary we are working on) have just wrapped. This country - and its capital Brazzaville - is a lot more developed, calm and organized than we expected (especially coming from chaotic Cameroon). The highlight was definitely the mighty Congo River, with Kinshasa just directly across.
